Menéndez Pola Palace
Chapter 6/9 · Luanco
We have reached the Palace of the Menéndez de la Pola family, a listed Heritage Site (Bien de Interés Cultural). Its main façade has a tower at each end and displays the family coats of arms on both sides.
The building has a square plan arranged around a central courtyard with Tuscan columns. The left tower keeps a wooden gallery, and the garden façade has a wide open gallery on the second floor. The Pola family owned the land of the church next door, which led to a dispute with the people of the municipality.
Right next to it, by the sea, the Church of Santa María awaits us.
