Welcome to Luarca! We start at Alfonso X the Wise square, in the centre of the town. The municipal tourist office is at 26 Olavarrieta street, and it shares its space with the Casa de las Artes y las Ciencias, which has displays on the life and work of Luarca’s Nobel Prize winner, Severo Ochoa.
The walk we are going to do follows some of Severo Ochoa’s corners and the most beautiful views of the town. It is circular, and we will come back to this square.
We climb the Escalerones, the steps of Olavarrieta street.
