Conde de Guadalhorce Square
Chapter 6/9 · Pravia
In this square, the Plaza del Conde de Guadalhorce, stood the early monastery of San Andrés, where the town began. Its church was closed for worship in the 18th century because it was falling into ruin, and after it was pulled down, in 1887 the Collegiate Church became the parish church of Pravia.
Today the square keeps a fairly uniform set of buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. From here runs Calle de la Industria, full of character, which follows the old road to Agones down to the lower part of town.
Now we head back towards the park, where a king is waiting for us.
