Plaza Nueva (New Square)

Chapter 4/8 · Ribadesella

We are in the Plaza Nueva, the centre of the town’s newer extension, not of the old town. The old town, about 200 metres to the south, was declared a historic-artistic site by decree 3350/1973 of the 7th of December, and it gathers manor houses and palaces from the 16th to the 19th century.

As we go down towards the old town, it is worth looking slowly at the stone façades and balconies of the streets.

A few steps further is the town hall square.
