Jovellanos Birthplace Museum
Chapter 5/9 · Gijón
Plaza de Jovellanos, in the heart of Cimadevilla. This is the house where Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos was born in seventeen forty-four.
Today it works as a museum, with paintings and pieces linked to his figure and to Asturian culture. If you wish to go in, check opening times and conditions on the City Council website on the day of your visit; we do not fix prices or hours here because they can change.
From here we head down towards Campo Valdés and the church of Saint Peter, looking out over the Cantabrian Sea. A short climb, and the sea opens up.
